I ate cherries on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004 @ 3:13 p.m.
and it tasted like the conclusion

hey y'all! sorry i haven't added an entry, i've been quite busy with school and all. i'm doubling up on geometry and algII, not very much fun. i have a geometry test tomorrow, i should probably study for that......
anyway, i shall start where i left off:
so, after that truck ride, we were dropped off at the car place, to fix our van, so stephen, elizabeth and i went to subway, which was about 2 minutes walk away. so when we get there, there's this advertisement for low carb wraps and low carb salads and low carb everything, and i say to elizabeth, "i don't understand all this low-carb crap. because carbs aren't what make you fat, it's fat, sugar, and calories that make you fat." which is true, but i said this quite loud, and i kept going on and on and on.... and elizabeth was all, "shhhhhhh" sounding just like my mom and my sister whenever i diss someone's product wilst in their store. anyway, so turns out that we need a new van, so when we get back, my dad is packing up. since elizabeth and i really don't want to help very much, we go into the waiting room and watch "Access Holleywood: Access to Athens" (this was the first day of opening ceremony) and we talked about how we really don't like Billy Bush a whole lot. so, my dad is all packed, and he says, "go to the bathroom". so, i go, and, of course, i look down to find that i had just gotten my period about 5 min. ago. and, of course, i have no pads. so i'm like, "uh... elizabeth...uh.. do you have a pad?" and , of course, she doesn't because she had just had it last week. so she has to go ask her dad for money to buy me one of those GINOURMOUS pads that come in a box in the restrooms. so i get that and we decided that the next gas station we get to, i'll get some pads. so we get in the car (which both elizabeth and i were very dissapointed in, because it had no arm rest and the windows were tinted, so we couldn't make funny faces at the passers-by) and we go to get gas. so while my dad is filling up, me and elizabeth (from now on i'm gonna call her liz, because i'm getting tired of writing elizabeth) go into the gas station, and, of course, the don't have any pads. liz remarked that she was posotive a male had built this gas station. so, we walk across the street that thankfully had a wallmart and got some pads. when we get back, we see my dad looking at the engine. we're all, "what's wrong" and guess what.
yuuuuuuuup.
the car broke down, AGAIN!
thankfully, we were right across the street from the car fixer-upper place, so it wasn't horrible. this dude (he was about 16-17) came with the jumper-cables (liz thought he was hott. i'm sorry, but he was so totally NOT!) and brought our car back to life, which was quite good.
so we are on our merry way again and we have decided not to stop the car until we get to the campsite. and omg, when we were driving, we saw the BIGGEST rainbow EVER. it went from the ground in the front of the car, to the ground in the back of the car. it was sooo beautiful!
anyway, we check in, and we turn off the car. we set up tent blah blah blah. and now it's time to go get the fire wood. and guess what.
this is getting too obvious.
the car wouldn't start.
i swear, they gave us a faulty car on purpose. i just know the did. so my dad goes to call mom, but guess what. his cell phone had no batteries.
oops.
well i'm sorry, but it was a VERY boring car ride, and it's not my fault that the only thing to do was play with his cellphone.
ok, maybe it was a teeeeeeeeny bit my fault....
but only a teeny bit.
anyway, so while we were there, nothing really happened. exept when i went to the beach, i wore a short sleeved shirt and shorts, and when i put my hands above my head to hold a book or whatever, my shirt rode up, so i had just a strip of tan about the width of my thumb, JUST on my back. which is sooooo frusterating, because i NEVER tan, and the only time i do, it's where no one will see it. isn't that just dandy. oh, and when we went skinny-dipping (it's kinda a tradtion now, i guess) liz is like, "gretchen, you're so white you glow!".
ya, thanks elizabeth.
anyway, on the last day, my mom was a real trouper. she drove 4 hours up there to pick up liz, stephen and me, and then drive 4 hours back. that was very kind of her.
i love my mommy.
and i think that concludes the interesting part of my summer. if i think of anything else, i will surely tell you. anyway, i have to go to v-ball practice now, tata!
luv, princess gretti
